The Chrysanthemum is one of the most popular ornamental plants. Especially in autumn, it provides a refreshing splash of colour. With over 40 species, the Chrysanthemum is a wonder of diversity, grace and understated elegance. Especially in East Asia they are known in natural surroundings. Due to its popularity, but also figuratively with its sun-like flower baskets, it has made it to imperial honours: a stylised 16-petalled Chrysanthemum flower serves as the National and Imperial Seal of Japan.

The understated elegance of Asia for your home

The selected floral motif comes from a painting by the Japanese artist Kamisaka Sekka (1866-1942). Sekka was born in Kyoto into a samurai family that recognised his artistic vein at an early age. The mural is an edited section of the three-part masterpiece Momoyogusa. The title is believed to refer to an 8th century poetic text that translates as Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves.

Hohenberger Tapeten Manufaktur has refined this motif by Gräflich Münster'sche Manufaktur with the effect mica, which dusts the surface of the mural like powder. Despite this effort, we can also guarantee sustainability here for a healthy ambience. Hohenberger does not use any PVC, which would be very difficult to recycle. We live sustainability in all production steps.
